Tomcat Web app installation 101:

Unzip the distro to a temp location.

Rename the jforum-2.1.8 directory to what you want the forum URL to look like, e.g. jforum or forums.

Copy this directory to the Tomcat webapps directory. Under Windoze, this is under the Tomcat install directory. In *nix, this depends on the distro/packaging.. check the docs for that.

Tomcat should now recognize a new webapp that will be associated with a url matching the directory name. E.g. /jforum or /forums.
