Hi guys,

Has anyone tried to integrate JForum with Liferay? I am very interested to use Jforum but im wondering if it can be integrated into liferay.

I dont mind if it cant be done as a portlet as long as the Liferay users can access hte Jforum instance then it should be fine. Is this possible?

Thanks

In a test deployment, we manage to integrate-it (with some problems). Done-it via cookies SSO.
Yet, post login action in Liferay did not fired when expected, so redirecting to initial forum page does not work.

aaa I mean: Guest try to PM another user, is sent to login page (liferay's login page) with return param as initial page.
User logs in, then is redirected to forum, but cookie is not set yet (?!?!) because post login action was not fired. Returning to liferay (forum redirects again to liferay login page), is sent to las liferay's visited page (say homepage) then the cookie is set. If user clicks on forum, is recognized as logged in user.

We haven't spent too much effort but wanted to know if we can do-it. Probably with some code change in liferay, is donneble without this problems.

Even better, we managed to populate existing users from forum into liferay. 5 or 6 insert from select was used.

For now, public deployment just use jforum as a disting webapp of same liferay, but different user system. Perhaps later we'll do the integration. www.acvariu.ro (liferay) www.acvariu.ro/forum (jforum)
