As much as I'd like to make the jump to version 7 it won't happen here for a long time. I'd like to know how useful this book would be to a version 6 developer. I realize that the focus is on the features of 7. but perhaps the techniques covered could be applied to version 6?

Bottom line, would this book be a worthwhile read for someone who doesn't use version 7?

Thanks!

The book's focus in on the entire Java language. Just skip the material on Java 7 (if you desire so) which has been clearly marked.
