Hi all,
I've looked at Android development previously, left it for a while, returned, and now am getting bogged-down with Google App Engine details. (Learning a new dev tool always involves a 'spiders-web' of related topics and GAE's intent caught my eye I'm afraid).
I believe that most of any apps that I produce will be web-data-dependent.
1) I've used (and intend to continue using) Eclipse - it seemed to be the most popular
IDE. Is this a good choice?
2) Eclipse enables
Java, Python and GAE plugins - I'm sticking with Java (which I know - at a low level). Is Java the way to go or Python or GO? (I'm tending to stick with 'what I know best' - to reduce my learning curve).
3) I'd like to use GAE, as it seems to offer the simplest, best-cost 'hosting' package - your thoughts on this (as it is relatively new).
4) I am having problems installing the GAE plug-in within Eclipse (I won't expand the problem in this topic) however: I can't seem to find a 'Eclipse' forum - can someone point me to a forum that may have information that will help?
Thank you for any info (and your patience with a newbie),
Red
