This is a direct hire, permanent placement opening I have with a client in the Columbus, Ohio area. The primary duties of this individual will be to maintain and provide advanced application server administration support for 3rd party and middleware software such as JBoss, Apache, Tomcat and any other related software as needed. The successful candidate must have experience in J2EE Application server administration, specifically Tomcat and JBoss servers and excellent debugging and problem solving skills.

Support, enhance, and maintain mission critical business applications running on client/server and web-based systems.
Install, configure and tune application servers and other related software for high performance environments.
Design and implement application server technologies.
Manage, troubleshoot, migrate, and debug application software, as it applies to the application server.
Application Server security functions such as applying patches and updates to the servers. Analyze, evaluate, implement and document all the procedures and policies required.
Create upgrade and migration schedules and plans.
Research, test, document and make recommendations on new application server related technologies and provide recommendations about the migration and upgrade paths for various systems.

Experience:
3+ years Application Server Administration
Advanced knowledge of JBoss Application Server, JBoss Clustering Architecture, Session Clustering, Farming, and Cache Invalidation
Ability to set up JBoss servers in production and migrate, configure & troubleshoot J2EE applications/resources
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Experienced in installation, configuration, tuning and monitoring JBoss application server middleware.
Experience managing SSL Certificates for Web and Application Servers using OpenSSL, Java keytool
Knowledge in use of UNIX and Windows in an application server administration capacity is desired.
Must understand J2EE Architecture and SOA design skills, specifically on J2EE-based web, Servlets, JSP and portal applications.
Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field a plus.
Experience with Weblogic servers a plus.

Technical Skills:
Experience with JON/JOPR
Minimal knowledge of SQL and oracle database connectivity including JDBC.
Knowledge in Unix and Windows, TCP/IP.
Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with development teams
Ability to multitask with multiple projects and work independently.
