I m trying to start the Apache tomcat server 6. THe server starts properly on installation but when i restart th PC the Apache does not start again.

Can someone tell me which microsoft service needs to be started for this and how can this be done automatically?

Also want to know whether while installation of apache server do we need to get username/password as the I m not able to open the Tomcat Manager console . It keps asking for username/password which i have not set.

I tried to use the credentials provided in tomcat-users files but they dont seems to be working.

Can anyone please help ?

I can't help you with setting up a Windows service -- I don't do Windows.

But please post your tomcat-users.xml file for help with getting into the Manager app. (Please UseCodeTags!)

If you installed Tomcat using the installer, it has created a Windows service for you. It's called "Apache Tomcat xxx" where the "xxx" is the version number. If I recall correctly, it's set to automatically start. Check if this is the case. If so, check the Event Viewer to see if there were any errors. Also check the Tomcat logs.

I also believe that you were indeed asked for the admin username and password.
