I'm not 100% sure this is a struts problem but it's starting to look like it. Another possibility could be the servlet filter we're using.
The filter is setup to check a session variable and redirect to a login page if it's not there. The web.xml and struts-config.xml didn't change, so I'm scratching my head on this problem. The init and doFilter methods are being called as the logs indicate and they hit the break points I set in Sysdeo for those methods. My doFilter method also successfully returns to the caller. That's the last trace of it.
What's supposed to is the filter first checks if the session is valid and just return if so. If not, as in this case, the filter is supposed to redirect to a struts action which checks the url to decide if a session is required. Some of the pages in this web app don't need a session (such as a new user registering), so that's the reason behind that.
What happens is the logs end at the filter servlet and the browser displays a blank page with no redirect.
I'm stuck at this point figuring out if struts is just being silent (as I've heard) or if there is something in tc 6 I need to be aware of or if you need to deploy your webapp on a full moon .
Is there a way to get struts to be more verbose? I'm using log4j set at DEBUG and tc6 is generating boatloads of useless knowledge .
