My VW finally died for the last time, so I decided this is as close to an "iCar" as I can get.

Cute! It looks like you could just paint a number on the hood, and go off to join the rally circuit.

If memory serves me right, Jessica Sant got one of these a while back, too. Enjoy.

Trendy. I'm guessing we're talking about a Mini-sized midlife crisis here? :-)

Nice, Marc. Congrats. But how will you transport your grill?

Sweet! Is that a Cooper S?
I got my new wheels last Friday, a 2012 Opel Astra GTC.
Don't have any photos of it yet, though.

That's what I told the salesperson: "I need something for my midlife crisis." (I neglected to mention I've been having a midlife crisis for the past 30 years.)

Yes, it's an S. (From the front, you can tell by the air scoop on the hood and the honeycomb grille instead of the chrome slats. From the rear, the centered dual exhausts.) Congrats on the Opel! What color is it?

It doubles as a grill! The interior is already "charcoal," so all I need to do is open the sunroof and light it up.

Yeah, that's what I thought. That's a great car right there!
The color is what Opel calls Carbon Black, and what I call the-only-acceptable-color-for-any-car-ever

Black? Isn't that a color that needs to be kept clean? I'm not qualified for that color.

Hahaha, yeah I know what you mean.
I start out by diligently washing my car on every weekend, which quickly becomes every other weekend.
That in turn becomes once a month, and - well you get the point
After a while the carwash really becomes the only viable option.

Well, the nice thing about the Mini is that my first 6 years of maintenance is covered, and they wash the car when I bring it in, so it won't be completely neglected.

That's a great deal!
I'm not going to make 6 years in this one, because I'm on the road a lot - too much maybe.
It's a company car and it's got (I believe) around 120.000 kilometers on the contract, or a maximum of 4 years of use, which ever comes first.
In my case that'll likely be the former, because my former car (Seat Leon) had a diesel engine, with more kilometers on the contract, and I hit 176.000 kilometers in slightly over 3 years...

My brother also has a Mini. Nice car, but it's small.

I'm looking for a new car too: the new Mercedes A Class:

This model is brand new and totally different from the old A Class, the prices have been announced here in NL just last week. I'm not going to buy it very soon, but maybe in a few months.

Ugh,yesterday evening on my way home from work a road pebble hit my windshield, and cracked it.
Went to see if it could be mended this morning, but they said it couldn't be, and that the whole windhsield would have to be replaced.
I've had it for exactly 7 days

Wow, I imagine that's covered by insurance, albeit with an unpleasant deductible. Make sure it's good glass -- don't replace it with a cheap windshield!
