hi,

I am looking for exercise questions based on chapters. Not the Mock Exams one. Just simple exercise questions about the chapter topics, in large number. Is there any source for that? more in quantity, like say 50 - 100 questions..

thanks

Hi s ravi chandran

If you are looking for 'chapterwise' exercises as opposed to 'objective' based exercises, you may want to have a look at the SCJP study guide written by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. There are 10 chapters covering the 7 exam objectives and at the end of each chapter there is a 'Self-Test' that has questions based on the objectives covered for that particular chapter. The one drawback, if you can call it that, is that most of the chapters are not dedicated to just one particular objective alone, it contains a few objectives. For an example, objective 1 is not full covered in just chapter 1, some of it can be found in Chap2 and 3, which in addition are also covering other objectives.

If you want 'objective' based questions, one very good source will be whizzlabs. However it's not free, but you do have some 'heavy duty' objective based questions(50 or more in some cases) that can take you an hour or two to complete depending on the objectives. I understand there are some free alternatives on the web, the specifics of which I am not aware of. I hope somone else who knows can provide more information.

regards
John

Thanks for replying. I have checked out K & B self test. but they seem too inadequate. so, I have to buy the whizlab product only at the end.. it seems..

You may also want to try JQ+ V6. It contains a large number of questions categorized by exam objectives. It is quite affordable as well
