Hi,

I'd like to know which IDE would you use to work with Java 7 Jax-ws. Are there many plugins?

Netbeans is good enough. I have used it and it is quite easy to create webservices.

We are still contemplating the upgrade from Java 6 to 7 and we currently develop using Oracle's JDeveloper. In addition, I am new to web service development. Is there much difference between JDeveloper and NetBeans IDE? Which version should we begin with? I noticed the book indicates we should use NetBeans 7. Will we be able to upgrade our Java 6 web services to 7 via our WSDLs alone or are further considerations necessary?

To my knowledge, JDeveloper has not evolved as much as netbeans or eclipse.
I have actually not seen anybody use it in last 5 years

Which version should we begin with?

Begin with the latest(or the one earlier) version. The one earlier will save you from any unstable features.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
