The question I have is, should I upgrade to OCA 7 first and then attempt OCP 7 Or should I go for OCP 6 and then upgrade to OCP 7? I have not been able to find anything on Oracle site which lays out how to go from OCA 6 to OCA 7 however.
I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
I would advise going down the OCAJ 7 / OCPJ 7 path because *in theory* it aligns with
Java SE 7, which is the current version of Java (i.e., JDK 1.7).
In reality though, after the OCAJ has been repurposed away from the
SCJA, the OCAJ 7 is really very close to the OCPJ 6 with only a few features removed from coverage. So, it really is a coin toss in which you choose to tak (OCAJ 7 vs OCPJ 6).
The reality of it is... the K&B book provides *direct* coverage of the OCAJ 7 AND the OCPJ 7. So if you study from that book, you will be prepared for both exams.... actually, all three that you mentioned.
