Hi everybody i am alexander completed BCA graduation. I am a fresher, want to know if i do scjp certification then is it helpful for getting job? I am searching for java job since from a year but not getting. Whether companies will consider me if i do certification?

Having the knowledge that learning for the exam provides is worth something. Whether the actual certification is worth anything is open to debate - in job markets I'm familiar with, not so much.

Oh ok thank you so much for providing me information. May i know how much time it takes for preparing scjp exam? I am fresher and i dont have much programming skills.

OCJP 6 takes 3-4 months but if you try OCJP 7 then may be 5-6 months.

Also, the old rule "if you don't use it, you will lose it" applies to any skill. So, the end goal should not be to get the certification, it should be to obtain the deeper level of skill. It is difficult enough to keep any skill set when you are unemployed, and unable to practice. It is doubly more so, if you crammed just to passed the test, and isn't sure of the knowledge in the first place.

Remember, it is the skill that you want -- so how long it takes to get the certification should not be your highest priority.
