My Journey:

I have fully gone through Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates book more than 2 times which helps me a lot. Thanks to Kathy and Bert. While reading this book i have done lot of sample programs to understand the concept and prepared notes to refer before going to exam that really helps me a lot. Gone through the JDK 1.6 API on required basis for packages, Classes, methods and return types.

Also i have gone through this site (http://suhrid.net/wiki/index.php?title=Category:OCPJP) which is having a VALID stuff.

For the last 2 months i spent more than 4 hours (night 2+ hrs and morning 2 hrs) apart from my job work for preparation. Every weekends i utilized properly for taking the free mock test and scoring 50%-70%. After test completion, reviewed the answers and melding my self where i made mistake.

Experience with Exam

Exam is little bit easier than mock exams. No drag and drop questions for me. I have completed my exam in 120 minutes with review. I am happy to get Certified with a good score. The experience with exam center is very GUD and exam center peoples are co-operated me well.

Below are the free few .exe files, download and install in your machines

1. ExamLab for SCJP 6.0 (This is very complicated when compare to real exam, dont take this score in to consideration)
2. uCertify PrepEngine (limited feature - but oakay)
some other .exe files but failed to listed here. Forum is not allowing me to list out.

Sharing Few Free Online Mock exams are listed below with you folks. These mocks helps me to get GUD score.

1. http://nikojava.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/free-scjp-mock-exams/
2. http://www.certpal.com/ExamWeb/content/logon.do
3. http://scjptest.com/mock-test.xhtml?execution=e2s1
4. http://www.skill-guru.com/login/ (sample test)

I googled a lot to get the exact information about exam pattern, duration, passing score but failed thats why i am putting this section here.

Exam Details

Number of Questions : 60
Duration : 150 minutes
Passing score : 61%

Sorry for the long mail, but it really worth reading.

GUD luck to the folks who are going to attend the exam.

Cheers
Eedanna K
