I've created an app that uses a web service. It works fine from my local install of Tomcat on my desktop (Windoze). But when I move it to the Linux box, I get "unknown host exception" on the proxy server. I'm using Apache HttpClient for authentication like so:

..with the creds coming from a properties file. I've tried using the IP address and the fully qualified server name, all to no avail. I can ping and nslookup the proxy server from the Linux box, so I'm puzzled as to why I'm getting this error. Is this some configuration in Tomcat that needs to be setup?

fyi, my Linux/Tomcat server and the proxy server are NOT the same box. The proxy server is at our headquarters several hundred miles away.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
