Hi,

I need to covert excel to csv without losing the excel format.

It should be exactly as original xls format without deleting the commas...

Thanks

No.

When you convert your spreadsheet to CSV you're going to get lines of text line this:

ABC,37,today,-88.1329

As you can see there's nothing to say that the "37" was formatted as a number with 1 decimal place and displayed in Comic Sans 14-point font with a blue background.

One of the primary points of having something in "excel format" is that it contains meta-data about how to format things. For example, it stores the font, color size, orientation, etc. of what is in the cells.

There is no real way to do this in a .csv file.

If you need all the formatting, why convert it away from what has what you need?
