Does your book cover The Java Memory Model (JMM) in 7 or
it's just an old topic you are covering in your book.

IIRC - There were no changes to the formal spec, it was just a topic that is now of prominent importance again (multi-core processors) and we know from experience that most day to day Java developers don't have a good handle on this part of the JVM.
