I'm fairly into playing StarCraft II on the battle.net ladder. A few days ago, when I started SC2, it did the auto-update to patch 1.5.0.
Since then, I've been dead. SC2 won't start.

Anyone here seen this? Got any hints? I've got a ticket open on battle.net's support, but folks on the ranch are smarter and better looking.

Blizzard says its a known problem. They have a work around, but it fails. So I'm without Starcraft 2.

That's crappy. I remember that happened to an update of a game I was playing long ago (Quake perhaps?) and it was irksome not to be able to play while it all got sorted out.

They have released patch 1.5.1, which works.
So now I can go back to killing Protoss and Terrans.

That reminds me, I need to install STII on my iMac and see how it runs. I have a windows box that I use for my gaming but Blizzard is pretty OSX friendly.

Yes, Blizzard is pretty good. Patch 1.5.0 was a huge thing, major architectural change. While it was frustrating that it took a week and their tech support was brutally biased towards Windows, they got it done.

I've been running starcraft 2 on my MBP since the day I got it.

Can't go crazy with video effects, the way I can on my desktop, which has a gaming video card. But I get enough fancy video to keep me happy.

I'm bronze level, somewhere in the 20 to 30 rank. I'm always up for a game. PM me for my blizzard id.

Wow, been a LONG time since I played this game. Super rusty. Runs pretty good on my iMac though.

I'm not rusty, I'm just bad at it. I think its because I'm older than @bear.

I like RTS much better than FPS because I don't have the twitch reflexes that those brought up on Nintendo.

Sometimes, I've gotten up into the high single digits on the bronze league, maybe 8 or so. But inevitably I sink back down into the 20s and sometimes into the 30s.

Ever since I found this suit I've felt strange new needs. And a tiny ad:
