Hi,

I have been an administrator for Weblogic Server for 6 years now. However, I wish to step into WebSphere.

I would appreciate if someone can guide me with the simplest of the materials, especially with snapshots as I found the RED book a little tedious and difficult to follow.

I need to learn from the very basics and proceed thereon.

Also, If I can get the installable and / or an online websphere console where I can practise the practical.

You can take a look at this book: http://www.packtpub.com/webSphere-application-server-7-0-administration-guide/

It's more easy to read, but it covers WebSphere not very deeply (you can read pros and cons of the book at Amazon.com website).

There is also similar book from this author about latest WAS 8.

regards,
MZ

No, the mentioned book teaches you only basics, as you asked.

For advanecd topics, use Redbooks and IBM InfoCenter (online help)

The way you say that, it sounds like you are looking for a book author to be your personal tutor for no payment.

Brother, I was talking about the authoer of the blog and not the book. And blogs are meant for the purpose of discussions.

It's the same thing. If I were writing a blog about Websphere, the posts would be about things which I wanted to post about. I wouldn't want people posting their questions there unless they were about the thing which I had been posting about.

And it sounded like you wanted to hijack the blog to ask about things which you had questions about. So no, I would recommend that if you have questions arising from your study, you should ask them on Internet forums. Like this one, for example. That's what it's for.
