I'm tasked with setting up live webcasting of events from a small business. Nobody knows whether what they're doing will ever become big and profitable, so the cost should be low. But events will include music and performances so we want sufficiently high quality.
I know there are sites like Livestream, Ustream, and I've already tried the new Google+ Hangouts on Air.
But as a beginner, I'm torturing myself through commentaries on Firewire, USB 2.0 is better, than newer versions of Firewire are better than that. What I need now is specification for selecting sufficient hardware ... i.e. video camera or webcam that can plug into a computer without difficulty. (I don't see any Firewire ports on our computers ... need to know if we have to get a Firewire card, for example.)
Anybody been through all this who can help sort me out?
