Hello!

I am doing a self study on java using BlueJ on my PC, I recently enrolled in a java class and was ask to install the latest Java 7u6 + Netbeans package from Oracle. Can I just uninstall/delete The BlueJ IDE?, because every time I run a code, it opens up and compile it on BlueJ. Please help.

Change the file associations. Actually you should not try to open the .java file at all. You should run the java tool from the command line. We have an FAQ which tells you how to do it.

By the way, you should not install JDK7u6 but 7u7. There is a dangerous bug which has recently been corrected; only use 7u7.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
