Do you love programming and movies?! If so, I have the job for you!

I'm an in-house recruiter for Double Negative Visual Effects, Europe’s largest provider of visual effects for Film.

We work on international renowned projects including The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and Harry Potter to name a few and have won Academy and BAFTA awards. We are looking to expand our Technology department with excellent programmers, to help drive this successful and dynamic company.

If you have any questions or are interested in these positions, please apply by emailing your CV and covering letter to: jobs@dneg.com

Java Programmer:

We require a programmer to join an existing team creating plug-ins for our internal documentation system, which uses Confluence as a base. The chosen applicant will need to hit the ground running and port a variety of web pages from Perl to Confluence plugins. They will work as part of a small team (4 people) moving the company's current intranet into Confluence.

  • Java programming knowledge
  • Working knowledge of web-based Java APIs/frameworks
  • Eclipse familiarity in a Unix environment
  • Confluence plug-in or Google gadget creation experience would be an advantage

  • Generalist Programmers:
We also require programmers to work within the scheduling and database systems, creating tools to further automate the production pipeline that are essential in contributing to the success of the business. You will develop the overall reporting capability of the systems to make information more readily accessible and to improve the flow of information between disparate departments.

  • Maintain, develop and evolve a wide variety of bespoke macro-based tools in Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Work closely with Production Managers to identify and analyse requirements, and to define and provide solutions
  • Liaising with Production Managers to support projects by creating reports and templates
  • Trouble-shoot Excel related queries
  • Produce secure and stable applications that complement existing systems
