Suggestion Needed

Hi Guys,

I have just completed reading the Kathy Seira book and now I want to do some mock exams. Please suggest which mock tests should I test myself on and what should be the sequence, i.e, Should I do other mocks first before the Master Exam from Kathy Seira or should I first test myself on the Master Exam and then go for other mocks???

Also I have set myself the target of apperaing in the exam in around 2 weeks from now. Is that time enough to do the mocks and how much score should I be getting minimum in those test exams so that I can get a good score in the real test.

Last question- Is the Master Exam from Kathy Seira difficult from the real exam???

Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates published a practice exam book , "OCP Java SE 6 Programmer Practice Exams".
The self-tests and this exam book provide exercises which are harder than the real exam.

Understanding the materials in these books can help.

Devaka Cooray's Examlab is the best and the toughest mock exam there is for OCJP6. The masterexam which is supplied along with the book is a mock and not the real exam. The GUI of the real exam is outdated and we have to be very careful when we try to re evaluate our answers in case of drag and drop.

I tried to download Devaka Cooray's simulator for SCJP 6 but it displays the following message:

"Oppps...The file you requested was not found!"

So please advice on this.

And yes I know the book masterexam isnt real but a mock test, I was just inquiring whether its harder than the actual exam. And other than that my other queries remain unanswered.

Please suggest some sequence for my preparation guys and I know this question can be best suggested by the champions who have cleared SCJP 6 themselves

there are 3 mock-test at certpal.com and they are good and of higher level than the real exam. as far as the issue regarding downloading of examlab is concerned, the link provided on their site is not working. you have to google it and download from some file hosting providers like rapidshare. or i can give you my dropbox folder link in case you are unable to find it.

I tried to install it and it completed successfully but then it tried to install Microsoft Jet Driver and it was unable to install it properly. And now when I try to open it it says 'Error occurred while accessing internal system files'.his

I am running this on Windows 7.

You have any idea how we can rectify this?

it usually gives .dll errors that not enough permission , i don't remember actually. all i know is that you will be presented with 3 options, abort , ignore , retry. just keep on pressing ignore for every error related to .dll file. it will ignore the error and the JET driver will be installed and you will be able to access the software. do post if the problem is resolved.

i tried installing again on my system and it is working . hope you too are able to get it work

do this way. right click the set up file and choose " run as adiministrator " and then do the same with dll files i.e. ignore them

Still no luck Gurpreet ! Thanks for the help. I think lets leave it and I am considering other mocks-

What about the enthuware and whizlabs trial versions? How good are they???
