Why? Seems like an odd thing to want to do.

Well,

I could not see any website with jsp... yahoo.com, google.com etc.. So i want my main page to be .com instead of jsp. I will use jsp for secondary website.

Vic

The .com is part of the domain. You can't even have a domain that ends in .jsp.

may i reccomend you read a good book on designing and writing web sites. i found the head first one good (servlets and jsp i think it was), it also explains all about how websites work and link together.

I read that one... i am already on the latest chapter. It only tells you more about MVC, jndi etc. but not how the .com . Yeah i like the book. I understand the basic jee because of it. :)

What do you mean by "the .com"? If you want to host your site on a .com domain, what problems do you foresee?

No,

What i mean is that i thought .com is like .jsp.... and i was wrong..... I want my site to be a .com. It is a mis understanding of me.

Keep in mind that the domain on which you will deploy your site has no impact whatsoever on how you write the code for the site. The domain should never be hard-coded into any part of the code.

This question is why you need to read a good book on websites.

There is an enormous amount of work needed to set up a web server for a domain. And all of that has nothing at all to do with web apps. Once that's all set -- or you buy hosting from a provider (recommended) -- there's a lot more to setting up a web application than a single file. And it's not stuff that you can just pick up via forum posts.

As Wendy has pointed out, you need to start reading. Soon.
