Having so much fun I foolishly signed up to a second course running at the same time (Compilers). Coping OK so far...

My colleague recommended that to me but I did not find enough time for it. But from his experience it looks interesting as well.

Can anyone here tell me if I can watch old videos from Coursera, like in case of this course, its already in fifth week. Is there any way or link.
(Its off the topic but didn't want to create a new thread for this)

If your intention was to watch the Week1 to Week4 lectures for the Scala course offered by Coursera, they are still available.

There aren't any - last week's was apparently a double hit - with an extended deadline. A bit of a shame, but there you go.

I feel that Week3 should have been given additional time provided that they added some more stuff to be implemented by the students. For example, the incl method, the complete reading of tweets from the file should have been given as assignments and given an additional week to finish.

So would we be getting the assignments this week or do we have to wait till next week?

Seems like there will be no assignments for this Week as the Week4 assignments just carry over. May be they should have atleast given an optional assignment.

As they switched some materials around in Week 4, and this week is about Collections, I think the Huffman assignment was originally meant to be in Week 5 anyway.

Do you mean then the original assignments for Week4 was something else other than Huffman Coding? Why not they give it for this Week and make it optional.

If you're interested in the mathsy bits of the course, the proof exercise at the end of lecture 5.8 is quite fun.

Just started working on Project Euler. The tasks there look even more challenging and fun to do in Scala.

Even the Coursera website is now down. What is happening to all these education servers? I thought the 10Gen Education website was down due to traffic and can't believe that Coursera also went down.
