I don't have anything about iPython in the book. In general I don't say much about IDEs on the assumption that if the book is used in a class the teacher will provide an environment.
But I have mixed feeling about this because I think it makes it harder for people who are learning on their own.
I think the interactive nature of iPython lends itself to learning environments. It seems like it can be used as a Python discovery tool. Especially the notebook.
