Applet to read a long folder structure and find empty or not

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi all

I want to create a simple applet to distribute among the users to check whether folder is empty or not.

Folder has c:\parent\Sub\Variable_Name\Sub1.1\Sub1.2

So the Variable_Name is a variable I want to read from a list (textfile probably) which represents the SubFolder name after \Sub\ folder

I appreciate any suggestion.

Are you aware that an applet won't be allowed to access the machine's hard drive unless it is signed and the user gives it permission to do so?

OOps I did not realize that.. It is only for 5 users, what do they have to do to get rights to look for the windows file system?

Try reading the Java tutorial on security in rich internet applications (RIA) http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/doingMoreWithRIA/security.html and follow some of the links on that page.
