IMHO, Spring Integration or any ESB provider such as Mule, Camel don't really present "DESIGN" patterns per.se.

These tools give you the ability via Messages, Adapters, Channels, etc. to build your workflow as messages are
built sent, received, forwarded through the business logic to their completion.

For instance, if you were building an eCommerce site what "DESIGN" pattern would you use to process sales?
There isn't any. It is all up to how your business operates.

Good reply William.

But you could also say the Enterprise Integration Patterns are the patterns that Spring Integration implements besides the standard one that you see in general in Spring. There are templates, factories, builders etc.
