I am able to login to the external application with credentials. But i want write some data in to it.I have used to Runtime.getRuntime().exec() to execute the application and i know the process id of the application.

Could you please let me know is there any way to write data to a process id even when it is not an active window.

How your process expect the input-data? Over a socket, Shared memory? Does it use such technologies like D-BUS, Pipes?
Take a look here

AFAIK for example a named pipe can be accessed through its name, there is no need to know the process id.
