Helo Gurus,

HeadFirst Java , chapter one , cross words question 15 (downwards )

Q. Shocking modifier

A. static

What is so shocking about the keyword static ? Is Kathy / Berts hinting on some weird behavior of static variables/methods ? What are these weird behaviors ?

Thanks in Advance,
Mike

No, it means they have found out about British conventions for cryptic crossword. Static is a keyword and static is shocking (can give you a shock).

There is a more serious point; a lot of people write static against things which ought not to be static.
