Hello All,

Currently this organisation uses Windows XP Professional on desktops PCs. Web Start is used to deploy an app (developed and deployed with Java 6), signed with a certificate pre-populated on each PC to C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment. Contents of this Deployment folder are:-

This all works fine.

The organisation is running a pilot to migrate desktops to Windows 7. I've been trying to find documentation to migrate the configuration above to Windows 7 so that the app will continue to be verified by default for any user of that desktop PC (rather than on individual specified user basis) but am struggling to find any - the docs I have come up with always refer to Windows XP, not Windows 7.

Invoking the app from Windows 7 without any installation of trusted.certs generates (unsurprisingly) 'The application's digital signature cannot be verified. Do you want to run the application?'. Selecting 'Run' deploys and runs the app without any problems. Checking 'Always trust content from this publisher' installs the certificate for that specified user and suppresses 'The application's digital ....' thereafter, so everything else appears to be in order.

I'm going to continue to search for docs and try a few things, but meantime, I'm guessing others have come up against this, hence this post. Any ideas/suggestions welcome,
