spring vs beehive

Has anybody worked on Apache beehive?. A cursory look indicates that it probably competes with Spring? There is heavy use of annotations though in beehive making it java5 only. If you have some insight please do share it here.

As I remember beehive is very tighting with Java 5.0 say more accurate to annotation feature. It looks great for me, however there is slowness in transition to Java 5.0 other software vendors, especially if you use lot of 3rd parties stuff. So for this reason I'd stau with Springs for awhile.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
