Dear Expertise,

I have 5 years of experience in java/j2ee technology and willing to switch over to a new company now. I'm residing in chennai at present. Got an offer from [company A] for 8 LPA and Associate designation.

Is this designation/salary package relevant to my experience?

Thanks,
Bala N.

Designations vary so much that I wouldn't worry about it. Associate could mean a new developer or someone with many years of experience.

Well in this industry you will see lot of variation on this aspect. There will be people with lesser experience and earning more and there will be a lot of people with more experience than you have and earning lesser.Since you asked ,being a developer from India(Pune) I can say your package looks good but decision depends upon what (if any) other offers you have in hand and taking a decision which you feel will be good decision in long run(based on lot of factors and priorities not necessarily money).

Dear All,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I also got another offer from [company] for 9 LPA. So, currently i'm holding 2 offers in my hand.

[company A] - Chennai - 8LPA - Associate
[company B] - Bangalore - 9LPA - Technology Lead

Among these two companies, i found so many good points for both as well. Regarding Onsite : [company A] doing well than [company B].

Got little confused to choose one among them.

Please let me know, how to proceed?

Thanks,
Bala N.

Please do NOT discuss specific companies in this forum. Please read our POSTING GUIDELINES! for this forum before posting.
Kindly edit your posts mentioning company names.
While the final decision can only be made by you, I'd suggest that you do a review of what type of work/domain you've been offered with the company. Regarding salary structure, you can visit websites like glassdoor these days where you can get broad salary averages which will help you making a much more informed decision.
