So I'm working on part of a chat program right now with a GUI and it works perfectly in the IDE but the moment I make it an executable .jar file....poot...nada...nothing. I've thrown everything I know at it and then some....I'm at a complete loss.

Hi Evin,

If the program works in the IDE but not as a stand alone jar file the problem is probably not in your Java code. But I admit I didn't even read it.

Which IDE are you using and how did you create the jar? And what error do you get when you try to run it?

Evin Palarow, don't you think you should reply to Steve Luke's response in your earlier thread, so that we know whether that solved your problem or you need further help?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I've been using BlueJ to write the code and turn it into an executable .jar file.

The exact command line you are using will probably be useful as well.
