Type of the book

Is this book a reference book, or is it a step by step guide to learn the spring framework? And which parts are covered more than others, since the spring framework is a big framework, covering all the parts wouldn't be possible, I guess

It is not a reference book. It includes Spring basics (dependency injection, beans, etc) + database, messaging and AOP.
