regarding the preparation i basically followed the foot steps of other achievers like piotr novicki, frits, piyush. for all aspirants out there do read the certification success stories. they will really really help you in planning and preparing. i started my preparation by reading lot of success stories, gathering materials , investing in enthuware.
next target EJB certification.
It is nice to know that I could help you a bit
When you start preparing for the EJB exam, please check the ScbcdLinks. (but I guess that is where you wanted start from).
You can also find my notes there for the EJB EE6 exam.
i would like to know your perspective about EJB exam ? in comparison to WCD how much time/effort/man-hours are required ? which book should i start with. i had started with EJB 3 in action and i liked it pretty much. i know the exam is focussed on 3.1 but i dont have any knowledge about EJB's and In Action book i think is good for novice like me. also which application server should i choose ? glassfish or jboss. which one you recommend ?
and once again thanks for all your contribution and all your effort that you put. you are a great person and a great tutor and a great programmer as well.

I would say the time to prepare is about the same. It took me some extra time because I started preparing for the EE5 exam at first, before I made the switch to the EE6 exam.

I have used Enterprise Javabeans 3.1 as a starting point, but it is also not targeting the exam. After that I went through the EJB 3.1 specifications (JSR-318) and the Interceptors 1.1.
I skipped all the JPA specifications and the specifications about earlier EJB versions. I have used both Glassfish and Jboss to prepare.
Thanks for your kind words
Glad to know that our s/w was helpful
Just want to clarify 1 doubt.
I want to write SCWCD 5 (exam number is CX-310-083) which has 69 questions which is based on J2EE v1.4 version: serlvet (2.4) and JSP (2.0) and JSTL (1.1) specs.
But I am not finding it anywhere in Oracle University Site.
Instead of that exam I got the following:
Is there any certification question changes b/w this new one and old one i.e. only name has changed or exam content are also changed.
Just asking this because I have the dumps for SCWCD 5 (exam number is CX-310-083).
Can I write this new certification(1Z0-858) with those dumps(CX-310-083).
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Waiting for your reply.

thanks Bhavesh. definitely. i will be sharing my material here very soon.
I am planning to take OCEJWCD 6 the next month. First i prepared from HFSJ but later i found that the v6 of the exam includes much more features not mentioned in the book.
Moreover, i searched a lot about the new additions to the v6 exam. I looked into the scwcd links posted by Fritz which turned out to be very helpful. Thanks to Fritz
Can you please share the material you referred for learning the new additions in v6?
Best of Luck for your EJB exam
i highly recommend going through servlet 3.0 spec. the main areas to focus in the spec are asynchronous servlets, annotations and pluggability, security, Registration, error handling in servlet, programmatically adding servlets, filters, listners.
also after i read hfsj and servlet 3.0 i did mocks from enthuware kit. i highly recommend them. it help me solidfy the theory, concepts. if you ask me then hfsj, servlet 3.0 and enthuware are more than sufficient for the exams. for last minute reading i used fritz notes that he has uploaded on coderanch. let me know if you have any other query. all the best
