Hi Dave/Jeff,
Looks like an interesting read! I don't do near as much Android programming as I'd like so a bunch of quick-start recipes sounds like a great idea, both to learn from and to reference. Question though: I see the book was published May 2011. What API levels does the book cover?

The 2nd edition is from December 2012, and covers Jelly Bean (Android 4.1+) according to the Amazon page.

(I'll update the link in the header, as I'm fairly certain that Dave & Jeff would much rather talk about the current edition than the previous one :-)

Hi Tina -

As Ulf mentioned, the second edition was just recently released last month and covers APIs including those in Android 4.1; however most of the recipes in the book (with the exception of the few APIs covered that were not introduced until later versions) will work back to Android 1.0 (API Level 1) or Android 2.0 (API Level 5). We try to provide code that allows you to support as many devices as possible, and not just the latest stuff.
