Learning the bash Shell, 3rd Edition
Unix Shell Programming

However, it only deals with Fee and Fie beginners. And there is nothing in it about properly constructing global unique identifiers. So for those topics, you really need

If you search for "shell script tutorials" you'll find so many that some are bound to be helpful.

There are lots of shells, most than just bash and ksh. Each was written by someone (or a team of someone) to solve problems that they thought were important. Each has fans that say its the best shell and the solution to hunger and war.
