Hi,

I have an small image which is an excerpt of large image and I have to code a program to find that image.

I have some piece of code that works but the small image when distorted by some grphics at its edge then it wont work.

Can anyone have any idea to do this?

That's a hard problem. Start reading up about image registration to learn about some of the issues involved.

The Java image processing app/library ImageJ has some plugins that may get you started just by playing around: UnwarpJ, bUnwarpJ and TurboReg.

Thanks! But do you know any specific algorithm that works for this type of problems.

Atleast to match the image even if there are no changes made to the small image.

What do you mean by "no changes"? I thought you said you had already solved that part?

I have solved some part of code.

I will explain in detail. I have an large image and an small image. Small image contains a cropped part of large image , but this is not the exact image in large image. Small image is sharpen at the edges ( Just to increase the complexity of problems)

I have code that works for cropped image without any sharpen edges. But my code does not work if I have image with sharpen and distorted edges.

Even the complexity increases as that small image is made horizontal but in large image it is inclined position.

So I want something that can make my image inclined i.e. rotate and also match the image in original one.

I think image registration will address that. I'm afraid there's no shortcut to learning about it :-)
