How about "RubeGoldbergDataTrain"? That seems like an awfully large number of hops across a bunch of different technologies. Smells like an architect padding his/her resume to me.

I am not aware of any standard or methodology for naming applications other than common sense, and even that doesn't always come into play. "Make it short and catchy" seems to be the more common rule.

So where is this application starting from and ending at?

In java terms, each database table can be a POJO or entity class (in EJB). Then DAO to CRUD with the database.

Now doing the same sort of task for PHP and DOT NET is just tedious yet different language.
