Help, I have been going through the HelloWorldApp lesson for java when i got to the very last step. At this point I have created a HelloWorldApp.class file but when I type in 'java HelloWorldApp' as instructed the error message: Could not open 'C:\Program Files\Jav4\jmv\jre7\lib\amd6.cfg' comes up.
Please help I have no idea what is wrong.

EDIT:

Here is the command line and error message:
C:\Java Projects\HelloWorldApp>java HelloWorldApp
Error: could not open `C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg'

EDIT:

Thanks for all the help! I have managed to fix it by changing the folder structure so that the pathway that could not open was correct. Thanks a lot!

Post a screenshot of the command you are giving and the error message.

screenshots are not preferred...it's easy enough to just copy and paste the text from the command line. that is much easier to read for us old-timers with bad eyes.

And welcome to the Ranch
To add to what Fred said, you should find how to copy and paste error messages here.

What does java -version return? Try it and tell me. Is it detecting the JDK and JRE properly?

I guess the file path should be like C:\\Program Files\\Jav4\\jmv\\jre7\\lib\\amd6.cfg or C:/Program Files/Jav4/jmv/jre7/lib/amd6.cfg
