Hi,guyz need an help
I am computer science student , recently i have made a new algorithm for detecting cycles in a graph, it is very useful for constructing Minimum spanning Tree & also minimum cost spanning tree using kruskal's algorithm as kruskal wants you to detect cycles in a graph.

Existing algorithm for the same is union find algorithm stated in cormen and other standard books.

i want to submit this as my own research paper(work) to any publisher (say google or xyz), what you think will the work be accepted or published, i know that without knowing my algorithm how you can say whether it can published or not.

but is the topic name " cycle detection in graphs " garbs the eye ball ?
in short do you think topic like this can be published by any big paper publisher?

thanks

Not sure what exactly you are looking forward at or if you would be interested in publishing online, but one place where I sometimes find an algorithm article (paticularly pertaining to graphs) is http://java.dzone.com/

So, this is really a question about how to publish about some academic research you have done?

Ask a professor or teacher at your school.

Jesper's right.

If you have really invented a new algorithm, then you should publish it properly, so talk to your professor and get some advice. They will be able to help you work out if your algorithm really is new, where you could publish it, how to prepare your paper for publication, etc. You may need to consider issues such as intellectual property rights e.g. as a student of your university, you may find your university has IP rights over your invention.

Also, apologies for being the grammar nazi, but I hope you make sure to use perfect grammar and punctuation in the work you want to submit, or you will not get good results. Have someone proofread it for you. I recognize that a lot of people in this forum, probably including you, don't speak English as your first language. But if you want to be published in English then you do have to use it correctly. Publishers will not make exceptions for you.

if they had helped me with my research work than why i would have ask such a question over here ?

its just that they are least interested in student research work all they want is to maximize there profits.....

It's a good idea to remind that OP that this topic is in the "meaningless drivel" forum -- and quite frankly, there isn't really a good forum to move this topic to.... so .... don't expect this topic to remain serious...

To try to remain serious, you may have more problems than you think you have. If you don't respect your professors, then how are you learning? Are you just "going through the motions" in class, doing all the learning on your own, and taking the tests? School should be treated as an opportunity to learn, not as an obstacle to get a diploma at the end of it.
