I want the code for java applet to capture image using webcam and save it in the database so that it can be used for the recognition

Unfortunately, this is not how things work out here at the Ranch. Tell is what you have tried so far, where you are stuck and we can help point you in the right direction.
You will need to use something like Java Media Framework or JavaCV, along with applets (signed), JDBC and OpenCV or Neuroph.

I do not mean to dissuade you, but it is not going to be an easy task. Hope you are all geared up to spend quality and quantity time on this. And, it might also be a good idea to use the magic word instead of "want"
