i call a javascript function by using <a href onblur="javascript:first();"> i defined a javascript function .but i am getting function not defined error.please help me what cani do?

Secondly, lose the "javascript:" prefix. It's superfluous and unneeded.

Is the first() function defined elsewhere on the page? If so, show it to us.

function is not defined is saying exactly what your problem is. The function is not defined in the current scope of the page.
