Hello there,

I recently joined a new company, during my interview I ga e wrong details about my Reporting Manager. Does this effect me any way during my Background Check.

I came to known that my new company did a check and the details sent by last company didn't match on reporting manager part else everything is genuine and TRUE

Please give your thoughts about any effect to my current job ? Can any 1 please suggest what to tell if current company asks me about this.

Thanks

If the "wrong details" refer to the wrong name then you should be OK. If it refers to a wrong designation (as in your reporting manager was a team lead but you claimed him to be the CEO) then you can most probably be in trouble.
I have always maintained, honesty to be the best policy. Beefing up anything never gets you anywhere...except trouble.

Only the name was given wrong....Everything else is genuine

Perhaps you should focus on enhancing circumstances made you to give 'wrong' name rather than fixing aftermath.

I'm not sure if I approve of this interruption. But this tiny ad checks out:
