Hello I ran across a tutorial which I would like to try located here:

http://www.tutorialspoint.com/java/java_applet_basics.htm

It is an applet tutorial on how to make applets in Visual Studio. I have both Visual Studio 2010 and 2012 installed on my local machine.

When I try to set up a new project, however, it keeps asking me for SilverLight. I found Silverlight. I have never used SilverLight.

I searched for it but could not find it.

I would like to be able to run Visual Studio 2010 or 2012 without dealing with SilverLight.

Could somebody please help me?

Thanks,
Michele

Dump Visual Studio and use a tool better suited to Java such as eclipse or netbeans or IntelliJ (community edition is free).

I searched that page for "visual" "studio" and "VS" and didn't find any of them. Did you mean to post some other link?
