Hello friends,
I am from Bangladesh and recently I have started to shift my career towards Java. I used to do research work in Finland with Posix C. But family resposibilities have forced me to return home. I have started preparing for SCJP and my future plan is to continue with Java, maybe on the Enterprise side. So my querstion is: if I pass the SCJP exam, which other Java certification exams should I go for to enhance my career?

In Bangladesh, I can only train for the SCJP; anything else and I have to go to either India or Singapore. So I have to plan early. Oh..... One more question: is "Object Oriented Analysis and Design with UML" ---- some sort of certificate from Oracle?

Bye.

You have lot of certificate option from Oracle after completing SCJP. There are two advanced (master) level certifications you can do and they are assignment based.

OCMJD (Java Developer) - you need to come up with source code for a business problem
OCM JEA (Java EE Architect) - you need to pass multiple choice exam and come up with architectural solution for a business problem

The second options are from OCE level for Java EE 6:

OCE EJB
OCE JPA
OCE Web Component
OCE Web Services

Oracle still offers professional level certifications for Java EE 5:

OCP JBCD
OCP JWCD
OCP JWSD

You can find nice diagrams to explain all certifications here.
