Welcome to the Ranch.

Can you post an SSCCE that demonstrates the problem.

Please UseCodeTags (← click) when posting code as it makes it easier for people to read your code. I've added them for you this time. Edit: I've just noticed you have reposted the code with code tags, thanks.

BTW, that is not an SSCCE it is just a snippet of code.

I'm not that experienced with using JInternalFrames but I don't think you should be setting the location of the iconified frame. I'd remove the code that sets the location and see if you still have a problem with the iconified windows disappearing.

Really, I thought that was handled for you. Please post an SSCCE so I can run the code and see the problem.

That is not what SSCCE means. Please check out http://sscce.org/ to find out what it really means and why Tony has requested it.

Read the JInternalFrame API. There you will find a link titled "How to Use Internal Frames" which contains a working example.

Compare your code with working code to see whats different. Or start with the working code and customize your code to do what you want.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
