Hello To All,

My name is Jim and this is my first post to this forum and website. I am just wrapping up an Advance Java Course given by my local community college and am now seeking training in Androids. Can someone on this forum recommend to me a good online place to be trained as an Android programmer? I need to be pushed some so am looking for something ligit that will keep me motivated. I work full time and plenty of evenings so if I am not registered with a good Android Training Course I probably will not be motivated to study.

Thanks a bunch for the help and take care!

Jim

Welcome to the Ranch.

I do not know of any training sites, but for self study, I find http://developer.android.com/index.html and http://www.vogella.com/articles/Android/article.html very useful. For motivation, I usually take a look at all my bills which are pending payment, and that gets me working in a hurry

Good Advice Maneesh,

How long have you been programming?

Thanks,
J

You should check out jpassion.com , excellent training site for getting a good base knowledge of android and plenty of other courses. It is a pay course but by no means expensive. If you just want android i think its 35 dollars for the full course package that includes presentation slide for notes, video presentations, labs with sample code you can directly import into eclipse. Great for beginner . For 99 dollars you can get unlimited to all of his courses which is great for advancing your career.

I like it. I kind of need someone to prod me along so this might not be the best course of action for me but for $35 / $99 I can't go wrong. Maybe they will throw in a cattle prodder for an extra $100.

Thanks,
Greenhorn
