Hi,

I don't know of the culture of this place, but at previous places I've started a "Hello" thread whenever I joined .

How's everyone doing?

At the moment, I'm interested in learning artificial neural networks using Java and compiling stuff with Ant (which I know next to nothing about).

Welcome to JavaRanch, James!

Artificial neural networks using Java sounds interesting - are you doing this for study or for your day job? As for Ant, if you have any problems, remember there's a JavaRanch forum on Ant, Maven and Other Build Tools where folk will be glad to help.
