Java gui with splashscreen

Hi i got this code but i am not sure why its not working. All iam trying to do is make a splash screen(image) appear for 3 seconds and then dissapear. Anyone know how 2 do this?

Is there a reason you can't just put the name of the splash-screen image on the command line using the "-splash" option? Since that option was implemented (Java 6, back in 2006) you only need to write your own code if you don't like the way the command-line feature works.

I dont understand can you please show me an example?

Sure. Have a look at the Oracle tutorial: How to Create a Splash Screen and scroll down to the section headed "How to Use the Command-Line Argument to Display a Splash Screen".
